Ales Byalyatski's book to be presented today
It is called "Sanctified by Belarusianity" and contains texts and essays, written by Byalyatski at freedom and behind the bars.
Radio Liberty notes that Ales Byalyatski has first
introduced the term "Belarusian prison literature" in the modern
literary criticism.
The presentation will take place in Minsk at the BPF party office
(Charnysheuski st., 3), starting at 6 p.m.
In November 2011, Ales Byalyatski was sentenced to 4,5 years of imprisonment
allegedly for tax evasion. The HR defender did not admit guilt and stated in
court that he had given all the money to help the victims of the regime.
