Anti-drug decree to come into force on Wednesday
People will be subjected to criminal responsibility for drug trafficking starting from the age of 14 now (down from 16).
The anti-drug decree will be added to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus on February 4, BELTA reports. The amendments were adopted according to Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s decree #6.
The law will decrease the minimal criminal responsibility age for drug trafficking from 16 to 14. The maximum term of imprisonment will be increased to 25 years.
People will get imprisoned for up to 15 years for selling drugs to minors.
