Armed special ops soldiers in Minsk metro
Armed special squad soldiers and members of youth squads are patrolling Minsk metro stations. All passengers’ backpacks and bags are routinely inspected. Security measures were beefed up at metro stations on Sunday, sputnik.by reports.
The security measures in the Belarusian capital will be enhanced in connection with the terrorist acts in Paris, the Belarusian police announced earlier. However, the police have not switched to the enhanced service schedule, the Belarusian MIA reports. Still, the security measures have been improved in the metro. Special squad soldiers used to be present only at the entrances to metro stations. Now they are working at the stations.
129 people were killed and hundreds were injured in the terrorist acts in Paris on November 13.
