Belarus Military Glory Day unofficially marked today
An unofficial holiday is marked in Belarus on September 8 – Belarus Military Glory Day. The Battle of Orsha was fought on this day in 1514. The thrice smaller allied forces of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania under the command of Hetman Konstanty Ostrogski defeated the army of the Grand Duchy of Moscow. Our ancestors used artillery to ambush the enemy for the first time back then.
Several actions will be dated for the Military Glory Day in Minsk. The BPF Party will organize a meeting in a public garden in the Commune Square at 6 p.m. It will be a pre-election meeting with a parliamentary candidate.
