Belaruskali says cooperation with Uralkali impossible
Belaruskali acting deputy CEO Dzmitry Prakhotski says cooperation with Russia's OAO Uralkali cannot be resumed.
"I think it is not relevant today to talk about about some joint work or collaboration with Uralkali after the Belarusian Potash Company is re-made in a new form," Russian news agency RIA Novosti quotes Mr Prakhotski as saying.
Last week Belarus President Aliaksandr Lukashenka ordered the creation of a new potash trading company to replace the former joint venture. Belaruskali's Russian partner OAO Uralkali quit their joint trading venture in July. In late August, Uralkali CEO Vladislav Baumgartner was arrested in Minsk, Belarus for abuse of office and for having caused damage to the national interests of the east European nation. He could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
