Condemned man pleads for mercy
Ryhor Yuzepchuk sentenced to death asked to pardon him but the Supreme Court has not changed the sentence.
The clemency commission is considering Yuzepchuk’s appeal now.
Mahilyou Province Court sentenced Yuzepchuk to death, interfax.by reports. Two men having previous convictions were returned guilty of having killed their cellmate in spring 2013. Yuzepchuk was already serving his sentence (25 years of imprisonment) for a murder. He was sentenced to death and the other man, Barysau inhabitant, was sentenced to 16 years of imprisonment.
Three people have been executed in Belarus this year, human rights defenders report.
