Ecomedservice chief engineer detained
The man has been detained in connection with Yulia Kubarava’s death. He is the sixth person detained during the investigation.
The chief engineer of the medical centre Ecomedservce was responsible for the work of the volume ventilator, head of Minsk administration of the Investigation Committee Alyaksei Volkau told Interfax.by.
None of the detained have been charged with anything so far and their measure of detention has not been changed. However, he did not exclude that the measure of detention may be changed for some of them by the end of the week. The detained people are cooperating with investigators, he noted.
The girl was in coma for 4 weeks after a rhinoplasty operation and died in the end. A malfunction of the volume ventilator may be one of the reasons for her death. The ventilator was last checked in 2007, Volkau said. The engineers of the medical centre were not qualified enough for the job, he noted.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka ordered to conduct an administrative check-up of Ecomedservice on May 3 and punish the people responsible for the girl’s death.
