EU approves and delays Russia sanctions
The decision had to be published in the official EU magazine on Tuesday, September 9.
However, the EU has decided to put off the new Russia sanctions for a few days. They will affect defence enterprises and the energy and finance sectors.
The EU finally approved the expanded sectoral sanctions but put off their publication to assess the truce in Ukraine, President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy said. The European Union is ready to reconsider all the sanctions or some of them depending on the situation, Rompuy noted.
