Kiev shooter detained, Right Sector headquarters blocked
Right Sector members had an ultimatum to surrender by the morning of April 1, Ukraine's interior minister Arsen Avakov said.
An exchange of fire occurred in the centre of Kiev in the evening of March 31. A member of the Right Sector wounded several people. He was arrested and taken to Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) detention centre, news.liga.net reports.
The shooter was drunk, Minister of Interior Arsen Avakov said. The Right Sector claimed the shooting was a mere misunderstanding but admitted that the shooter was their member.
The police blocked the Dnipro hotel, a home to Right Sector’s headquarters. The organization members were presented with an ultimatum: they had to give up and lay down their arms by the morning hours. The police promised not to assault the building.
