Lukashenka: Belarus should no longer ‘be completely devoted to Russia’
Lukashenka calls on government officials to look for markets elsewhere not only Russia.
The state leader also drew attention to the necessity of export diversification on December 15. It is necessary to save production so that ‘people would not be sacked’ in this complicated situation, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said.
Lukashenka: "We can devote ourselves to Russia only although it is a brotherly state for us. You see, their market has collapsed and we have followed it. We used to export 85% to Russia and now we only export 40-45%. We have decreased our dependence on their market but it is still not enough.”
It is necessary to develop new markets including the American one ‘at all costs’ in this situation. Local higher officials should be acquainted with the work of enterprises on their territory. “There can be no strange enterprises on your territory. They are all yours. You are presidents in your provinces!” Alyaksandr Lukashenka said.
