Lukashenka: It is necessary to train 100 thousand partisans
The President met the chiefs of the Belarusian Armed Forces on Thursday.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka visited the Belarusian Ministry of Defence and made a number of statements on February 19. He talked about the prospects of the Belarusian Army that has to be mobile and combat-ready. He advised that Belarusian generals studied the experience of the conflict in Donets Basin.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka also demanded to train so-called ‘partisans’.
Lukashenka: “We may need to draft over 100 thousand people to the army in case of war. We need to train those people.”
It is necessary to make a list of those people and summon them to training sessions (for 2 or 3 days a week), he stressed. They need to practice their main wartime functions.
Trained mobile groups may threaten Belarus in wartime and our soldiers must be trained well enough ‘to resist them’. He urged to train soldiers taking it into account so that they would be able to wage war in such a situation.
