Pinsk police brutally "mops up" market from pensioners
The policemen seized the elderly people, who sold vegetables and fruit with no necessary documents, and threw them into the cars.
The police raid for the elderly people who sold vegetables, fruit, berries and mushrooms at the entrance to the "Zakhodni" market happened on July 7. Previously, the police chased them away and warned bout the responsibility for illegal trading. This time it happened the other way.
It is seen in the video how the law-enforcement officials are trying to pull a chair and a bag out of the arms of an old man with a grey beard. Then they pushed two women in the police van. The women screamed, one of them lost her headscarf, and a policeman stepped on it.
The people in uniform paid no attention to the passers-by who were outraged by the cruelty of the raid. The video was taken by an eye-witness. According to the Pinskers, the police detained about 10 people.
Pinsk police have not commented on the incident yet. The policemen claimed they had not seen the video, published by charter97.org, in a conversation with Euroradio.
