Belarusfilm popularize mandatory rural assignments for young professionals
The film studio will make a comedy to focus on the advatages of working in rural areas for young professionals.
Belarusfilm plans to produce a new romantic comedy about a college graduate who was assigned to work in a village. The shooting of the flick titled Touch will begin in May and continue through the end of the summer. Producers will try to show the youth the positive moments of working in the country-side. Besides, the name of the flick symbolizes a touch between an urban girl with a nwq life in the country, flim editor Maria Savelyeva told the European Radio for Belarus. She said: "It is a very acute issue. Young professionals, even those born in Minsk, are assigned to work in remote rural areas against their will. We want to show that this is not that bad; there are also very interesting people there and there is something one cannot find anywhere else.
The film will be directed by Vital Dudzin, who became known for his drama Cadet. The idea is by Zmitser Yakutovich who authored the ideas for several popular cartoons.
The main character Katsya who is a trade college graduate arrives in a village and works as a saleswoman on a mobile shop. She falls in love with the shop driver, but nothing is very rosy in the beginning.
Since there will be special effects, the budget of the flick is very small. The director wants to attrack viewers with jokes instead of video effects. With this new flim, Zmitser Yakutovich wants to destroy a stereotype of Belarusfilm as a factory of boredom.
The comedy will be shot in Smalyavich and Lahoisk. It is scheduled to premier in January 2011.
