KGB tried to force Nyaklyayeu to confess to arms supplies

The leader of "Tell the Truth!" mentioned the act at a press conference in Minsk on February 27. Uladzimir Nyaklayyeu commented on Andrei Dzmitryyeu's statement made after the detention of ex-presidential candidates.

Dzmitryyeu did not say many other things in front of a video camera back then, BelaPAN reports quoting Nyaklyayeu. He and Dzmitryyeu were being made to admit that "Tell the Truth!" had received weapons from abroad, the leader of the campaign said.

"Do you remember the grenades and guns shown in the office of "Tell the Truth"? Why did they need to show weapons there? They wanted to demonstrate that an armed uprising had been prepared. If people had headed for the President's Administration, they would have justified the shooting by it. They showed me people lying on the ground and said that they would accuse me of murder. They wanted to reach an agreement with me, they needed me to confirm that we had received money and the things they showed in the office from the West and East. Can you imagine what could have happened?" Nyaklyayeu said.

But they did not manage to make them admit the things, he said.
