Sevyarynets: City authorities asked to remove Kurapaty activists’ camping

Officials have suspended the construction works in Kurapaty and aksed the defenders to leave. However, the activists will not leave the camping until the construction is officially stopped, Pavel Sevyarynets said after his meeting with head of Minsk City Executive Committee Andrei Shorats.

Sevyarynets: “The construction has been suspended, the city will discuss the issue with the Ministry of culture and other institutions. A round-table discussion may be organized. They have asked us to remove the defenders’ camping. We have talked to the activists and they said that they would leave only when they saw a written decision to cancel the construction and when the fence was removed.” 

The result of the negotiations is a draw, Sevyarynets said.
