Slodych ex-director asks to be acquitted
Tatstsyana Selih has made her last plea in Minsk Pershamaiski District Court today. The prosecutor has asked to imprison her for 5 years.
The accusations are farfetched and groundless, she claimed. The ex-director said that the investigation had been biased, BelaPAN reports.
She only cared about the quality of the work of the factory, the defendant claimed. She noted that she ‘spared no effort for the good of the enterprise’. Selih explained that the tapping of employees’ phone calls was needed to keep the discipline and fight corruption.
The prosecutor asked to imprison Selih for 5 years and confiscate her property as well as forbid her to occupy administrative positions for 5 years.
The defense claimed that Selih was not guilty and asked the court to acquit her.
Selih has been standing trial since April 28. The sentence will be announced on May 26.
