Alyaksandra Herasimenya: I don't take sweets from strangers

"I never drink water from an unsealed bottle, when it stands somewhere, I never take sweets or anything like that from strangers," Alyaksandra Herasimenya shares with Euroradio. - However, you can never be 100% sure that you are protected".

The double Olympic champion in London could have failed to get her titles.  In 2003, Herasimenya got into a weird story. The doping-test taken at training camp (in Cyprus) showed a positive result. There was no practical sense to take a forbidden preparation, as in the situation with Nadzeya Astapchuk.

"The point is, it is still a mystery for us. They took doping-tests before the training camp and afterwards,  — recalls Alena Klimava, Herasimenya's coach. —It was pointless to use anything, however, they found doping in our repeated test... We still don't know what to think about it".

After such lesson, the sportswoman and her coach apply the maximum measures of security: they drink their own water and prepare energy cocktails only from their own ingredients. Other Belarusian swimmers stick to the same discipline.

Alena Klimava has told Euroradio about the canteen in the Olympic village in London upon our request - was it possible to dust something into the food there?

Alena Klimava: "The point is, when you come over with a tray, take a plate, as there are many of them, the volunteers in the kitchen put anything you show them onto your plate. It is impossible to dust anything at this stage. Then you go to any spare table, take your seat and eat. If you leave your tray unwatched and go to take something more, anything can happen".

Both Alyaksandra Herasimenya and her coach think that it is impossible to get fully protected from the doping catch, despite all security measures.
