Kazakhstan's Dimash Kudaibergen gets Slavonic Bazaar grand prix
Belarusian Valeryya Hrybusava wins the first prize.
Dimash Kudaibergen from Kazakhstan has won the grand prize and 20 thousand dollars at Slavonic Bazaar. The 21-year-old student of the National Arts University impressed the audience with his unique voice of great range. Dimash sang the song Blizzard (Christina Orbakaite) and got 89 out of 90 points for it on the first day of the contest. Then he got 86 points for Grégory Lemarchal’s SOS d'un Terrien en Détresse. Thus, Dimash got 175 points. The singer is the son of Honoured Artists of Kazakhstan Kanat and Svetlana Aitbayev.
Belarusian Valeryya Hrubusava was only a few points behind the winner. She chose difficult songs for the contest. Freddy Mercury’s Somebody to Love was among them. She won the first prize.
Bulgarian singer Nikolai Manolov (2nd prize), Ukrainian Ganna Tverdustup and Georgian Sofie (the girls shared the 3rd prize) got to the top-5. 10-year-old Luisa Nurkuatova from Kazakhstan won the children’s contest at Slavonic Bazaar-2105.
The winners of the adults’ contest were awarded at the festive closing ceremony of Slavonic Bazaar on July 13. Alyaksandr Lukashenka took part in the event.
