10 Freedom Day participants fined by Minsk Court
Minsk Soviet District Court fined 10 participants of the Freedom Day action on April 28. The fines ranged from Br2.1 million to Br8.4 million, BelaPAN reports.
BPF Party leader Alyaksei Yanukevich was fined for 7 million 350 thousand roubles (35 base amounts). The court decided that he took part in an unauthorized meeting near the cinema house Kastrychnik, the politician said. However, the city authorities had allowed people to gather there, Yanukevich noted.
Coordinator of the campaign European Belarus Maksim Vinyarski was fined for the same sum. The biggest fine was imposed on UCP member Mikalai Kazlou – 8.4 million roubles (40 base amounts). Co-head of the steering committee for the creation of the Belarusian Christian Democracy Party Vital Rymasheuski was fined for Br2.1 million (10 base amounts), Kasya Ludvih – for 5.25 millions (25 base amounts), Ales Makayeu, Zmitser Silchanka and Yauhen Batura – for 6.3 million roubles (30 base amounts).
Dzmitry Paliyonak’s sentence is unknown.
Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu and Anatol Lyabedzka were fined for Br10.5 million (50 base amounts) for the action held on March 25 earlier.
