10 thousand people deprived of central heating in Slonim (photo)
One person was injured when a 80 m-high exhaust pipe fell down on a boiler house on March 17.
The pipe collapsed on the territory of Slomin worsted fabrics factory, the ECM press service reports. The boiler house was damaged. 3 people were at work at that moment. One of them, 61, was injured and taken to hospital.
When the pipe collapsed, automatic ages supply turned on and it helped avoid a fire. The enterprise, 126 blocks of flats (with about 10 thousand dwellers), 6 boarding schools, 3 schools, 7 kindergartens and an asylum were left without central heating. Repair works are in process now. A district emergency commission and task forces are working there. The reason for the incident has not been found yet.
