Autukhovich probe to be completed on October 8
An
investigation into a criminal case against businessmen Mikalay Autukhovich and Uladzimir
Asipenka is to be completed on October 8. Lawyer Pavel Sapelka said the suspects
are to begin studying their case files.
Belorussky Partizan reports that the lawyer would not
comment on the case because he had pledged to keep investigation-related
details secret. Autukhovich is still recovering after a long hunger strike. He
is kept in an ordinary cell with other inmates.
The interior ministry announced in July that on June
23, Awtukhovich was charged with making preparations a few years ago for murdering
Uladzimir Sauchanka, chairman of the Hrodna Regional Executive Committee, and
Deputy Tax Minister Vasil Kamyanko. Autukhovich dismissed the charges as
politically motivated.
