Barscheuski: Middle-aged and older generation feels apathy
Liavon Barscheuski, one of the organizers of the Chernobyl March and the leader of the Party of the Belarusian Popular Front, has commented to Euroradio the results of today's action in Minsk: "The action was held the way we organized it with an active participation of the youth. At the same time, it did gather a quantity of people which the Chernobyl March could attract in Minsk. There are our common defects and there is a current situation.
After European politicians began playing games with the regime of Lukashenka, some people feel apathy and think that their protests are not needed by anyone and nobody will hear them.
There were few representatives of the middle-aged and older generation. However, the youth believes in European values, not European bureaucrats. The youth hopes to survive those beaurocrats, and it behaves more actively".
