Belarus days to be held in Prague on May 4-7
A series of events with the participation of Belarus representatives will take place in the Czeck capital on May 4-7 in the framework of the 'Belarusian Days in Prague'. The Belapan news agency reports that a documentary film on Belarus and a discussion on the situation in this country will be staged on May. The debate will be attended by Belarusian political analyst Ales Lahvinets and former Czech interior minister Jan Ruml.
On May, ex-presidential candidate Aexander Kozulin, chairwoman of the Belarusian People's Republic Ivonka Survilla, leader of the Conservative Christian Part of the Belarusian Popular Front Zianon Pazniak, leader of the Belarusian Social Democratic Hramada Stanislau Shushkevich and leader of the For Freedom movement Alexander Milinkevich with Czech prime minister Mirek Topolanek.
On the same day, Pazniak and Shushkevich will give a lecture to Belarusian students.
In the morning of May 6, five politicians will hold meetings at the foreign affairs committee at the Czech parliament. In the evening, the Free Theater from Minsk will perform Generation Jeans play at Vaclav Havel's library.
Besides, the five representatives of the Belarusian opposition will take part in the conference titled Eastern Partnership: Forming A Forum of Civil Society" on May 5-6.
On May 7, the Belarusian oppositionists are scheduled to meet Czech foreign minister Karel Schwarzenberg. Afterwards, they will answer questions from journalists.
A demonstration against repressions in Belarus will take place on a central square in Prague on May 7. The leaders of Belarusian diasporas in Belgium, Poland and the Czech Republic, Jan Ruml and representatives of the Belarusian opposition will make speeches during the rally.
