Belarus to monitor forest fires from space
Forest fires in Belarus will be detected from the space by the Russian satellite Meteor.
The satellite will be sent into the orbit in May. Early next year, Belarus will be able to obtain high-quality photos and other data, regardless of the atmospheric conditions and at least three times a day, reports ONT.
Currently, five US satellites monitor forest fires, but the quality of photos is not always good. The satellites of this generation are unable to detect objects when the weather is cloudy. Meteor can overcom this hurdle.
