Belarus nationals detained when trying to smuggle secret weapons from Russia

Russian security services detained over a dozen of members of a criminal group which attempted to smuggle 20 tons of secret weapons from Russia. The gang comprised former and acting Russian military officers as well as citizens of Belarus and Ukraine.  According to news.spbland.ru, the gang stole and smuggled radar and secret spare parts for surface-to-air complexes to Belarus, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.

The contraband channels operated for two years. Gang members were arrested almost simultaniously at the Russia-Belarus and Russia-Ukraine borders.
