Belarus to toughen citizenship laws

Belarus is developing legislation in order to make more stringent the procedures for applying for the Belarusian citizenship, reports Interfax Zapad news agency. According to Aliaksei Byahun, the head of the citizenship and migration department at the Interior Ministry, "the economic crisis has spurred the foreign labor migration in the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States".
