“The chainsaw attacker” has been imprisoned for 15 years. He will also have to pay 220 thousand roubles to the victims (about 110 thousand dollars). Minsk Maskouski District Court made the decision on March 3. Uladzislau Kazakevich was returned guilty of preparing to kill two or more people and of brutal killing for the purpose of hooliganism.
The young man brought a chainsaw and an axe to the shopping mall Europe on October 8, 2016. One woman was killed and two more were injured. Kazakevich pled guilty in court but did not repent. 15 years of imprisonment is the maximum penalty for the crime since Kazakevich was a minor when committing the crime.
