Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk, the WBC, WBO, WBA, IBF, and IBO heavyweight champion, called his detention in Poland "a misunderstanding that was quickly resolved," reports hromadske.ua. The incident occurred late in the evening on September 17 at the airport in Krakow. The video shows that the glorified athlete's hands were handcuffed. "Ukraine couldn't agree less with the attitude to its citizen and champion demonstrated in the video," said the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Usik had been released. He is also outraged by the incident and instructs his aides to discover all the details.

There still needs to be official information about the boxer's detention.

According to the Polish news portal Onet.pl, Oleksandr Usyk was detained because he protested his companion's not being allowed on the flight. Both were detained.
