Spokeswoman of the Belarusian Coordination Council, Anzhalika Melnikava, has gone missing. According to Pavel Latushka, Deputy Head of the United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus, there has been no contact with her since March 25.
“According to available information, she is not on the territory of Poland. We hope for the best, but we understand that top figures of Belarus’s democratic forces are priority targets for the security services of the regimes in Belarus and Russia,” Latushka wrote on his Telegram channel.
He has already filed a report with Polish law enforcement authorities.
According to the Coordination Council’s secretariat, Melnikava is likely not on EU territory. It is also reported that her ex-husband may currently be in Belarus.
Euroradio reports that delegates of the Coordination Council had not seen Melnikava for several weeks due to her illness with COVID-19. However, she remained in contact at least until March 21.
