Sports journalists pick Darya Domracheva as Sochi best female athlete
The International Sports Press Association has named the best athletes of the Sochi Winter Olympics.
Belarusian biathlete Darya Domracheva was announced the most successful sportswoman – she won three gold medals in Sochi (45% of votes). She is followed by Slovenian alpine skier Tina Maze (two gold medals, 21% of votes) and Norwegian skier Marit Bjørgen (three gold medals, 7% of votes), Pressball reports.
Norwegian biathlete Ole Einar Bjørndalen (2 gold medals, 28% of votes) was announced the best sportsman. He is followed by Russian short track speed skater Victor An (three gold and one bronze medal, 27% of votes) and Frenchman Martin Fourcade (two gold and one silver medals, 12% of votes).
Holland national men’s speed skating team became the best team (a gold medal in the team race).
