Dzyady is marked in Belarus today – a Remembrance Day. A procession to Kurapaty - a place of mass shootings - is traditionally organized in Minsk on this day.
The processions have been organized starting from 1988 when the first action was severely dispersed by policemen. A Memorial Cross was installed in Kurapaty in 1989. The place of Soviet repressions has become a national memorial in the recent years. Traditional “Dzyady” processions to Kurapaty are organized by a Christian-Democratic Party BNF.
