Economist Chaly: prices to increase over food deliveries to Russia
Shelves in stores may become empty.
Russia has reached an agreement with Belarus on additional food supplies to cover the deficit from the embargo, the Russia-24 reports the words of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich.
According to the economist Syargei Chaly, it will adversely affect the prices and the range of products.
Chaly: "it will not be possible to increase production by 15-20%, this year's growth in milk exports to Russia is only 3% . We will cut the share of the internal market and re-export, we'll stick our labels. If it turns out that the goods have been supplied with damage to the internal market, and the shelves left empty, the prices will go up."
At the same time, the expert believes that the foreign exchange earnings for the country will increase.
It should be recalled that in response to the European sanctions Russia has banned the import of products from a number of countries. Ban is in effect for one year on the supply of beef, pork, poultry, fish, cheese, milk from Australia, Canada, Norway, the USA and the EU countries.
