European Commission declares conditions for Belarusian authorities
The European Commission has declared the conditions on Belarus-EU rapprochement. The European Commissioner Štefan Füle has named then in his speech in Columbian University in New York, informs RIA "Novosti". According to the European official, interaction with Belarus will depend on reforms in the 5 fields which are important for democratization: absense of political prisoners, reform of the Electoral Code, freedom of media and NGOs, and death penalty abolishment.
Füle is convinced it is impossible to isolate a country in the center of Europe. Thus, the European structures are looking for new ways of interaction with Belarus, focusing on the necessary reforms.
Füle informed the EU would closely watch the presidential election in Belarus.
