FM radio managers face sacking for lack of 75 percent of Belarusian music
The Minitsry of Infomation of Belarus has monitored the programming content of Belarusian FM radio stations and detected several stations that do not play the Belarusian music in the prime time.
The European Radio for Belarus has learned that Information Ministry circulated a letter among FM radio stations, saying that some stations did not implement an order to play 75 percent of the Belarusian music in the prime time.
In this regard, the information minister urged the stations "to provide proposals regarding the "Belarusian quota" and to ensure playing the songs of Belarusian artistes and bands”.
If they do not obey, FM radio managers are warned they could be punished or even fired.
