Freedom Day organizers not settled over rally route
The organizers of the Freedom Day traditional rally on March 25 have not yet taken a final decision regarding the route of the demonstration. Viktar Ivashkevich from the Popular Front told the European Radio for Belarus that the final route would be picked near the Academy of Sciences where the rally participants will gather. The organizers had planned to walk to the city center -- October Square. But, the city authorities proposed to change the route to a traditional and remote Bangalore Square away from the city center.
The organizers also urge the public to bring along white0red-white national flags and home-made posters.
Ivashkevich said that last year when the posters had been painted centrally by artist Ales Marachkin, security forces found it easy to seize all the action materials. The artist was also detained for five days, reports Belapan.
