Gazprom: Belarus has paid fully for gas in Jan-Feb

Belarus has paid in full for the gas supplied in January-February 2009, Gazprom's deputy CEO Andrei Kruglov said in a statement. He also noted that the Russian gas giant would pay for the next portion of shares of Beltransgaz in February 2010, in accordance with the deal.

Beltransgaz CEO Uladzimir Mayorau stated that the work with Gazprom has been based on the formula, stipulated by the long-term contract. Talking about the change of gas price for Belarus, he confirmed the forecasts that it would cost less than $160 per 1000 cubic meters in 2009.
