Georgian opposition begins civic disobedience action

The opposition in Georgia has decided to begin an action of civic disobedience. The decision was taken during the demonstration of opposition on Tbilisi's central square. Protesters demand the resignation of Georgia's president Mikhail Saakashvili.
On Thursday, opposition leaders gave the head of the state 24 hours to resign and set a date for new elections.

However, Saakashvili said defiantly he is not going to step down.

The Russian news agency Ria Novosti reports that the civic disobedience begins today.

Every day, opposition supporters will gather from 1500 to 2100 in three major places: in front of the parliament, in front of the television and on the route which leads to the presidential administration.
