Government approves economy liberalization plan
The government and the president's administration on January 15 approved a plan of measures aimed at the liberalization the country's economy, Belarus deputy economy minister Andrei Tur told reporters in Minsk.
He noted the plan targeted 52 enterprises eligible for 12 major new liberal procedures: simpler registration, certification, sanitary and other procedures, formerly associated with administrative hurdles.
The plan also reflects reforms in taxation, customs clearance procedures, in the development of the financial market, investment and anti-trust regulations, self-employment of the population, banking and others.
Small-size enterprises will also be allowed to take part in government's tenders; resitrictions for the import of fish and other products will be lifted.
