Haidukevich's deputy Karunas sentenced to 5 years in jail
Uladzimir Karunas, a member of Minsk City Council and a deputy chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus, has been sentenced to five years in prison, Minsk's Centralny District Court ruled.
Karunas was found guilty of graft and swindling.
The official news agency BELTA reports that the former city council member was charged among other crimes with accepting a bribe of Br14,500,000.
Karunas received the money for having appointed three people as his aides and having issued official IDs to them.
