Heavy forest fire in Homel Region
Rescuers are trying to liquidate a heavy forest fire in Homel Region. According to BelTA, rescuers noticed the fire from an AN-2 plane in the border zone of Lelchytsy District on the territory of Milashevichy forestry. About 500 hectares of forest were affected by it.
100 forestry employees are working on the spot now. They are using syringes, tractors and tank trucks. 2.5 tons of water were poured down from a rescue helicopter MI-8 40 times.
At the moment only 2 hectares are still on fire. The fire is planned to be liquidated by the end of the day.
