Lukashenka: Belarus will hold presidential election in 2020

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has announced the date of the next elections in the annual State of the Nation Address on April 19. The parliamentary election will be held in 2019 (most likely on November 7) and the presidential election – in 2020. The corresponding decisions will be made public soon, the state leader noted.
"Whatever happens, the presidential election must be held in 2020,” Lukashenka announced.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka was elected president for the first time in 1994. He has been in power for almost 25 years.
