Lukashenka: We are ready to take care of weapons from Debaltseve (video)

Belarus could play an important role in resolving the conflict in Ukraine, in particular, in Debaltseve. This was stated by Alyaksandr Lukashenka during today's meeting with the president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Suma Chakrabarti, BELTA reports.

"Today, we told the Ukrainian and other parties involved in the conflict the problem with Debaltseve can be solved within a day, if Ukraine, Russia, PRD and PRL want it," said Lukashenka.

"We are ready not only to be a mediator, but to stop the conflict in Debaltseve and withdraw all troops out of Ukraine under our guarantee that they will never fight, said Lukashenka. And if someone is worried about the weapons that the Ukraine military surrounded at Debaltseve have, we are ready to keep them on the territory of Belarus. Thus, it will never be used in hostilities."

Lukashenka also added that the consent of all parties in the conflict is needed.

"If their priority is to save the lives of thousands of innocent people, surrounded there, we are ready to do it within a day," said the Belarusian leader.

Lukashenka also assured that Belarus is trying to play a role in resolving the conflict in Donbas, but is acting non-publicly.

President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, in turn, thanked the Belarusian leader for the important role of mediator, that the country plays in resolving the conflict in eastern Ukraine. According to Chakrabarti, this is a very important issue for the region, because it affects both the economy and politics.
