Petro Poroshenko changes anti-terrorist operation tactics
The Ukrainian President wants the operation to be more effective in order to minimize the damage done by terrorists.
Poroshenko announced it at a meeting with the heads of security agencies, censor.net.ua reports. The troops need to regroup to protect the Ukrainian territory and continue advancing, Poroshenko believes. It is necessary to cut off terrorists from the sources of new military equipment, ammunition and hirelings, he said.
The biggest cities controlled by militants have already been surrounded, Poroshenko added. However, they are facing an ecological catastrophe now. The water level has reached a dangerous mark in Donets Basin mines, militants are shelling at substations thus blocking electricity supply for enterprises. “Terrorists have nothing that could connect them with the cities, they come and go…” Poroshenko said. “They are destroying the infrastructure, blowing up substations and destroying enterprises.” The Ukrainian President blamed militants and their foreign patrons for it.
