PM: Prices will not skyrocket
An abrupt price growth will not be allowed in Belarus, Prime Minister Siarhei Sidorski said in a statement.
In conditions when the Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian currencies are devaluated, prices will definitely go up. "But as the head of the government, I stick to the position that prices should not only take the devaluation into account, but also react adequately to the changes in the foreign markets", Sidorski said.
The prime minister stressed that all the markets, groceries and eateries across the country were scrutinized. "We must do everything possible so that prices are justified", he said.
