Alyaksandra Herasimenya wins Olympic silver (photo)
The Belarusian swimmer showed the second result in the 100 meters freestyle.
The final of the competition took place on
August 2. Herasimenya swam the distance for 53,38 seconds, having lost 0,38
seconds to Ranomi Kromowidjojojo from Holland, who set a new
Olympic record — 53,00 seconds. Tang Yi from China came third — 53, 44 seconds.

Herasimenya will take part in the 50 meters freestyle swim at the
Olympics-2012. The qualification and the semi-finals will take place on August
3.
Thus, the
Belarusian Olympic team has 2 medals. The first medal was won by weight-lifter Maryna
Shkermankova on August 1 - she got the third place in the category under 69
kilos.
