BAJ petitions for release of Atroshchankau, Bandarenka and Sevyarynets
The journalist organization has sent the corresponding letter to the President’s Administration.
The letter reminds that a number of participants of “Dec.19 case” were pardoned not long ago. The BAJ also refers to Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s statement about the necessity of a dialogue in the country. That is why the journalist organization urges to release journalists and BAJ members Ales Atroshchankau, Zmitser Bandarenka and Pavel Sevyarynets.
The organization considers their prosecution to be a limitation of their freedom of expression guaranteed by articles 13 and 34 of the Constitution.
Moreover, the BAJ draws attention to the fact the Zmitser Bandarenka’s chronic diseases have intensified in prison and that he underwent an operation not long ago.
