Kavalyou and Kanavalau receive copies of their sentences
However, their appeals have not been sent to the Pardon Commission yet.
According to the information provided by BelaPAN, Uladzislau Kavalyou and Dzmitry Kanavalau, sentenced to death by the Supreme Court for the terrorist act in Minsk metro, received the copies of the court's decision on December 6.
Meanwhile, the Pardon Commission of the President of the Republic of Belarus has received no documents with regard to Kanavalau-Kavalyou case yet. Member of the Commission Yauhen Smirnou says that they are not likely to work with this case till the end of this year.
According to the law, an appeal for pardon may be filed by a convict within ten days since he receives the copy of the sentence. The terms of consideration of appeals are not set.
