Lukashenka's granddaughters win Belarusian fairy-tales contest
Darya and Natsa Lukashenka have won the contest "Go, winter, your time has come!.."
Yakub Kolas' 130th anniversary was marked last year. The children's contest was dated for it. Famous children's writer Uladzimir Lipski, editor-in-chief of the children's magazine Vyasyolka was the head of the jury.
The works sent to the contest were not anonymous, the head of the jury told Euroradio:
Lipski: "All the works were signed. I read them and expressed my opinion."
The head of the jury is not afraid to be accused of adulation.
Lipski: "Let them write all they like! The fairy tales are really excellent. It was my personal suggestion to chose them."
The state leader's granddaughters wrote their fairy tales in Belarusian, Lipski says:
Lipski: "They were in Belarusian. One of them is eight and the other is nine years old. They go to grammar school. Excellent! I wish all our children could write like that..."
By the way, one of Nasta and Darya's fairy tales will be published in the magazine Vyasyolka.
All the winners will be awarded in the State Literary and Memorial Museum of Yakub Kolas on January 18. The poet's younger son, Mihas Mitskevich, will attend the ceremony.
