Mayor of Vilnius promises to help repressed Belarusians
Artūras Zuokas met with the representatives of the democratic forces of Belarus.
Zuokas claimed from the start that not all Lithuanians had the same attitude to Alyaksandr Lukashenka as President Dalia Grybauskaitė. He also promised that Vilnius would help all Belarusians who suffered from repressions in their own country.
According to Artūras Zuokas, the majority of Lithuanian politicians are convinced in the necessity of democratization of Belarus and release of all political prisoners. Stanislau Shushkevich, Volha Bandarenka, Maryna Adamovich and Natallia Radzina represented Belarus at the meeting, BelaPAN reports.
