“Sosny” laboratory director Ivan Kulikou is dismissed

Professor Ivan Kulikou, an ex-candidate at the presidential election-2010, is unemployed now. He was the head of the equipment of nuclear energy facilities and resource saving technologies laboratory of the Joint Institute for Power and Nuclear Research “Sosny” in the Belarusian Academy of Sciences. Let us remind you that Kulikou was arrested in January and received a suspended sentence – 5 years of imprisonment.

Euroradio has interviewed Ivan Kulikou on air.

Kulikou: “I have been dismissed from the position of the head of the laboratory. And this is not the most important thing. The laboratory was divided into two parts yesterday. A person not related to science has been appointed head of the second part. I hope that my pupil whom I consider to be very promising will head the first part”.

Euroradio: Are you unemployed now?

Kulikou: “I have been advised to occupy a lower position. I would agree on condition that my pupil headed the laboratory. However, taking the specific character of this sphere into account, it cannot be guaranteed. I might work half-time if he heads the laboratory so that our research would not be wasted… The final decision will be made on Monday”.

Euroradio: Have you been offered a vacancy abroad?

Kulikou: “I cannot leave because I was released on recognizance. I will not be able to go abroad for the next two years”.
